Mark Groombridge (38), of Uttoxeter, received a four-and-a-half-year sentence at Stafford Crown Court on 20 May.

The serial offender had previously pleaded guilty to supplying cannabis and cocaine as well as the possession of a bladed article.

He was stopped and searched while driving a grey Peugeot van on High Street in Uttoxeter in November 2022. A mobile phone and £705 cash were found.

Once in custody, police recovered a Kinder Surprise egg stuffed with cocaine. Groombridge was then arrested following a positive drug swipe.

His property in Uttoxeter was later searched. Cocaine, cannabis, and knives were seized.

Staffordshire Police are currently carrying out their Operation Target campaign, which sees them proactively targeting criminals who “…plan, organise, and commit serious criminal offences across the county”.
