There’s still time to sign up your team for the One More Lap ultramarathon event that’s taking place in Lichfield in September.
On Sunday 15 September, relay teams have 12 hours to run around Stowe Pool as many times as possible.
This ultra-endurance event is being held in aid of Kids’ Village, which is a local charity. Kids’ Village is currently building a holiday camp for sick children in Wychnor.
Each runner who signs up must pledge to raise £100 minimum for the cause. The event is free to enter, but all entrants must commit to meeting the fundraising minimum.
The event director Ian Covey stated: “Teams can have between four and six members, with each one taking their turn to walk, run or jog as many laps of the pool as they want before handing over to the next teammate.”
He continued: “It’s the perfect way for you and your running friends to go further than you thought possible while raising money for a fabulous local charity.”
The race starts at 8.00am and finishes at 8.00pm. A camp will be built on Stowe Field on the day, providing spectators with food, drink, and music.
