The YMCA charity shop in Cannock Shopping Centre has announced its closure only a year after opening.
Store manager Lisa Eden has blamed the shop’s failure due to a ‘lack of footfall’.
She stated: “It really is sad. We just don’t get the footfall. We have the market day on Friday, but honestly, people just don’t really come in here anymore.”
The shop will close for good on 22 June. In order to clear stock, Lisa has reduced the price of everything to £1 or less. Anything left behind will be distributed to other YMCA stores.
Lisa has stated that she’ll miss the customers most of all, stating: “It’s really all about the people that you meet, I have done charity work all over the country and charity shop customers are always so nice.”
