Bloor Homes has submitted plans to build an additional 165 homes in Penkridge to South Staffordshire Council.
The proposal, which is one of four planning applications currently being considered, also includes plans to build the site’s first school, as well as a nursery, community centre, and shops.
These new homes would be built off Stafford Road on the northern side of Penkridge.
If the council accepts these plans, there will be a total of 1,100 new homes in the area.
The planning application states: “The development of the site will collectively deliver a residential-led mixed-use development comprising up to 1,100 dwellings.”
It continues: ”Bloor Homes shares the council’s aspiration for the creation of a vibrant new neighbourhood for Penkridge that provides much-needed new sustainable homes along with essential community services that will meet the day-to-day needs of its residents. It will be a sustainable neighbourhood that is closely connected to the existing village.”
