Staffordshire Police have announced today (14 May) that three more men have been arrested in connection to an incident involving weapons on Saturday night (11 May).
At 5.45pm on Saturday, eye-witnesses reported seeing a man ‘shooting at houses and cars’ with a pellet gun on Rochester Road, Longton. Other witnesses described seeing a gang of men wielding weapons.
Armed police responded to the calls by searching the neighbourhood. This resulted in a 25-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, being arrested and questioned on suspicion of violent disorder. This man was released on conditional police bail.
Now, three further arrests have been made. A 29-year-old and a 64-year-old have been arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm without a certificate.
A 31-year-old has also been arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life or enable another to do so. All three are from Stoke-on-Trent and have been released on conditional police bail.
Investigations are ongoing and the police are appealing for further witnesses.
Specifically, anyone who was near Rochester Road, Edgefield Road, or Longley Road around 5.45pm on Saturday should contact police by calling 101. Witnesses should quote incident 670 of 12 May.
