Organisers of the weekly Tamworth Castle Grounds Parkrun are looking for volunteers to help establish a Junior Parkrun for younger runners and joggers.
The existing parkrun takes place every Saturday at 9.00am on the picturesque Tamworth Castle grounds. This 5k run can attract as many as 300 participants.
It’s a free event run entirely by volunteers. Now, event organisers are looking to find people willing to supervise a partner event for those aged between four and 14.
Specifically, they’re looking for people to marshall and record timings at the event.
Councillor Sarah Daniels stated: “We’re working hard to help bring people of all ages together for regular fitness activity, and encourage more people into the town centre, which is a big focus for us at the moment.”
