Raz Charcoal Grill, located on Nile Street in Burslem, has been overrun by Turkish and Kurdish food fans since opening last week. On opening day, an impressive 250 meals were served. The attraction of this new restaurant lies in its authenticity and value for money, with large sharing platters available for £50.
The businessman behind the restaurant, Razgar Hassan, had already built up a reputation and following in the local area thanks to the success of his Razmart supermarket last year.
The supermarket, located downstairs from Hassan’s new restaurant, quickly became the go-to supplier of Turkish delicacies and ingredients.
On the back of this success, Hassan decided to convert the supermarket’s upstairs space into a companion restaurant. With Turkish chefs working in the kitchen and fresh ingredients supplied by Razmart, Hassan has created a restaurant that delivers an authentic Turkish culinary experience.
Menu highlights include sarma chicken beyti and the mezze platter. There’s also plenty of seafood and vegetarian options available.
The layout and design of the dining area were put together by a Turkish designer. The restaurant features authentic sloped ceilings, wooden panel walls, and floral walls. It also boasts comfortable leather seats imported from China.
