The Peacock Hay Road is set to reopen this month after being closed for 409 days and counting.
The road, which runs from Tunstall to Talke, shut in May 2023. Running adjacent to the A500, Peacock Hay Road was a popular rat run for those looking to avoid delays.
The road was closed to allow for construction work on a new road and roundabout to take place. This new road was constructed to support the new Chatterley Park business park.
The 108-acre business park is yet to open, having been impacted by frequent delays.
One of the project’s firms recently went into administration, which has pushed the building schedule back further. According to the Staffordshire County Council, the business park is scheduled to open in mid-July.
In the meantime, the Peacock Hay Road will once again be opened to the public. An official reopening day is yet to be announced.
