The Irish Woodman in Hanley recently announced that their beer garden is now open.
The popular pub, which is located on Goodson Street, now features an outdoor area complete with big umbrellas and patio tables.
In a Facebook post, the bar management stated: “This is something this pub has always needed in the summer months and we have got permission to use the space out the back as a beer garden. Happy days.”
The pub was bought over by the current owner John Desmond in October 2023. The pub was formerly known simply as the Woodman. Desmond – who is originally from Dublin – relaunched the venue as an Irish-themed pub on 1 March of this year.
Desmond claims that the bar now serves the ‘best Guinness in Hanley’.
The pub is open from 2.00pm to 8.00pm Monday and Tuesday, noon to 11.00pm Wednesday to Saturday, and noon to 9.00pm on Sunday.
