Great Haywood’s Canalside Farm, Shop and Cafe has received planning permission from Stafford Borough Council to expand its facilities.
The popular farm shop plans to create a sheltered market area, that will be utilised for food and craft markets, independent retailers, and additional seating for the cafe.
Additionally, the shop is set to extend its kitchen, car park, and cafe. Plans were organised and submitted by Malcolm Scott Consultants.
It is hoped that improving the venue’s hospitality, retail, and events space will increase the services offered to customers and improve the overall experience of visiting the shop.
Currently, a service road separates the shop from the cafe. The business directors believe that this road prevents cafe visitors from visiting the shop and vice versa.
The approved plans addressed this problem and proposed the construction of a covered link between the two facilities. This link will serve as the new entrance to Canalside Farm.
The owner of Canalside Farm, Chris Barton, stated: “Once complete, the development will provide our customers with a superior visitor experience as well as giving us a real point of difference over our competitors.”
