Planet Doughnut Bakery has announced the closure of several of its stores – including the branch in Newcastle-under-Lyme. This follows the closure of the Lichfield branch in March.
The popular doughnut shop, which was located at 65 High Street, is one of three of the brand’s shops that are now closed.
The other two affected branches were located in St Helens in Merseyside and Warrington and Widnes in Cheshire.
Planet Doughnut is reducing its branches to focus on becoming major wholesalers and making its products more readily available throughout the UK.
The company’s remaining three branches – located in Chester, Shrewsbury, and Telford – are set to be rebranded as Dipp’d stores. These shops will continue to sell Planet Doughnut products.
