A brand new food festival has been announced for August that will showcase the best food and drink that Newcastle-under-Lyme has to offer.
Castle Food & Drink Fest will take place on Saturday 24 August, which is a bank holiday weekend.
Ironmarket and High Street will be transformed into a hub of activity, with street food stalls, artisan markets, and food demonstrations. There will also be plenty of demonstrations, activities for kids, and live entertainment on offer.
Visitors will be able to sample a range of artisan cheeses, handmade dumplings, Turkish delights, baklava, woodfried pizzas, onion bhajis, biltong, Filipino street food, and much more! Guests can then wash the food down with craft gin and coffee offerings.
This free festival is being organised by Independent Street and Newcastle-under-Lyme BID. Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council will also be supporting the festival.
Charl Pearce, the manager of BID, had this to say about the upcoming festival: “Let’s face it, we’re a nation of foodies and Newcastle’s food and drink offering is continually growing. This festival is a fantastic way to bring in a variety of street foods to the town as well as celebrate local offerings.”
