A new farming business called Ridge and Furrow Foods has opened in Brewood, South Staffordshire, which sells grass-fed quality meats.

Owners Richard and Lisa Tood have always been passionate about farming and opening a field to fork livestock business has been a “lifelong dream”.

“Our aim is to rear quality meats for customers in the Shropshire and Staffordshire area. These are people who enjoy good quality meats, want to connect with their food journey and want to know that it is produced and delivered to them in prime condition,” said Richard.

Ridge and Furrow Foods specialises in bespoke cuts of meat and creating meat boxes for customers, which can be delivered both fresh and frozen.

Richard completed a Good2Great business start-up course to prepare for the opening of his new business venture.

South Staffordshire Council are managing free business start-up workshops throughout the year. Match-funded grants of up to £1,000 are also available for start-up businesses. The next Good2Great workshops will be held at Codsall Community Hub on 11 and 12 June. Those interested can apply for the workshop by signing up for Good2Great.
