The German supermarket chain has identified 10 areas of North Staffordshire where it would like to open new stores.
Although plans are yet to be finalised, the discount shopping brand has created a “wish list” of locations across the UK.
The Staffordshire locations include:
- Newcastle-under-Lyme Chesterton
- Newcastle-under-Lyme North
- Newcastle-under-Lyme South
- Staffordshire Moorlands – Cheadle
- Staffordshire Moorlands – Biddulph
- Stafford Borough – Stone
- Stoke-on-Trent Meir
- Stoke-on-Trent Lightwood
- Stoke-on-Trent Trentham
For the 10th location, Lidl hopes to relocate the current Newcastle-under-Lyme store.
The supermarket chain is now on the hunt for locations within the areas listed above that would be suitable for one of its stores. These locations must be easily accessible and be able to support significant pedestrian and road traffic.
Lidl will need around 4.5 acres worth of land to build the store and other facilities.
