22-year-old Michael Lee Price, from Burton-on-Trent, was sentenced to 14 years in prison at Shrewsbury Crown Court on Friday (14 June) after being found guilty of 10 sexual offences.
Price’s crimes include three counts of sexual assault of a girl, two counts of rape of a girl, one count of causing a child to engage in sexual activity, one count of sexual assault of a boy, one count of causing a child to watch sexual activity, one count of making an indecent photograph of a child, and one count of possessing extreme pornographic images.
One of Price’s victims came forward in July 2022 and told an adult what had happened to her.
After this was reported, Staffordshire Police launched an investigation into Price. During this time, more victims came forward and provided their accounts of what happened.
This led to Price’s arrest. He was charged with numerous sexual offences and questioned in custody. Price denied all of the charges.
In April of this year, a Stafford Crown Court jury found Price guilty of the 10 offences.
In addition to his 14-year jail sentence, Price was given a three-year extended license period. He was also given an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and added to the Sex Offenders Register for life.
Detective Constable Bethan Otter stated: “I’m pleased that the jury were able to see all of the evidence we’ve worked hard to gather and the effect Price’s crimes had on the survivors, despite his persistent denial.”
She continued: “Results like this are the reason why officers are so passionate about speaking to survivors and encouraging them to come forward. It takes tremendous courage and bravery to tell people about these types of crimes, but with the right support, we can take robust action against those responsible and deliver justice for those affected.”
