Penkridge Air Cadet’s minibus was stolen in the early hours of Thursday (25 July) after the cadets spent four years raising money to buy it.
The vehicle in question is a white Ford Transit and has a long wheelbase. On the side, it reads ‘2415 Squadron’ and ‘Penkridge RAF Air Cadets’.
It was stolen from the Air Training Cadet Corps Headquarters, which is located on Grange Road in Penkridge. Those who stole the vehicle had attempted to access the building but were unsuccessful.
The minibus is worth £10,000 and took four years’ worth of fundraising efforts to buy. Penkridge Air Cadets had raised enough to not only buy the bus but also pay for its running costs.
The cadets had big plans to use the minibus this summer and had hoped to use it to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Before it was stolen, the cadets had been using it on a weekly basis to travel to and from events.
Staffordshire Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
