Staffordshire Police have issued a missing person update in relation to the disappearance of 81-year-old Brian, from Uttoxeter.
Yesterday (4 June), at 11.25am, police were informed that a body had been spotted in the River Dove, which is near Wood Lane in Uttoxeter.
Formal identification is yet to take place. However, police believe this to be the body of Brian. They are not treating the death as suspicious.
Brian was reported missing on Friday (31 May). Police launched a search for him and conducted enquiries.
The police’s statement said: “We’d like to thank everyone who has come forward with information as part of the efforts to try and find him over the last few days, as well as those who shared the appeals for information”.
It continued: “Specially-trained officers are supporting his family as much as possible at this time”.
