Enjoy Staffordshire has announced that they’ve secured £300,000 from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) to raise the profile of the Staffordshire Moorlands and attract more tourism to the area.
The money will go towards new advertising campaigns that will highlight the unique walking, cycling, and other outdoor activities on offer in North Staffordshire. Biddulph, Cheadle, and Leek will also be promoted to visitors are great places to shop, stay, eat, and drink.
Money will be spent heavily promoting the Staffordshire Moorlands Walking Festival 2025. A new High Peaks Walking and Cycling Festival, which is set to take place in September, will also receive promotional funding.
This initiative is part of the larger Visit Peak District, Derbyshire & Derby scheme. This project is hoped to boost the local economy, revitalise high streets, and establish new tourist epicentres.
Meetings will be arranged with stakeholders, partners, and local business owners to discuss areas of improvement and to devise how best to invest the money. Consumer research will also be conducted.
The money will be allocated by the Staffordshire Moorlands District Council and the High Peak Borough Council.
