The Stafford Music and Food Festival – formally known as Stafford Walking Street – will return to Market Square and Shirehall on Thursday 16 May. From 4.00pm to 9.00pm, visitors can sample street food, enjoy live entertainment, and partake in some late-night shopping.
16 May will be the first of seven Stafford Music and Food Festivals set to take place in 2024. Additional festivals will be held on 20 June, 18 July, 15 August, 19 September, 31 October, and 19 December.
Established in 2019, this festival takes inspiration from Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, where community-led street food festivals are a massive part of social life.
Visitors to the Stafford festival will be able to sample foods from such vendors as Feast of the East, Tasty States Ltd., Sam’s Noodles, On the Brink Catering, EJ’s Super Cream, Jamrock Catering, Midland Fun Foods, Athens Street Food, Jojo’s Fish and Chips, and Churros2 Ltd.
Performances from Musical Theatre Stafford, Stafford School of Dance, Stafford Grammar School, Sandy Stanton, 20 Mile Island, and Town Crier Adrian Basford are scheduled to take place at the event.
For younger age groups, there will be selfie opportunities with the Endon Stormtroopers as well as the cast of Paw Patrol.
Stu Haycock, presenter of Vibe 1 107.3 FM, will also be broadcasting live from the event.
Mobile bars will be provided by Bubbly Booth and Lewis Partnership Horse Box Bar. Food bought at the festival can also be enjoyed in the surrounding local bars, including the Coach and Horses, the Lamb, the Grapes, and the Rose and Crown.
Independent retailers in the surrounding area will also be extended their hours to 7.00pm.
