An incident on the A530 yesterday morning (17 June) resulted in a 35-year-old woman being taken to hospital and a 57-year-old trucker from Kidsgrove being arrested.
Police received reports of a collision on Shrewbridge Road in Baddington at 7.45am. The collision involved a Nissan Note and a lorry.
Police that attended the scene found the driver of the Nissan, a woman from Whitchurch, trapped inside the vehicle. Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Crewe and Winsford were called to the scene.
Firefighters successfully rescued the victim. She was then transported to Royal Stoke Hospital. Thankfully, her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The driver of the lorry, who was uninjured, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving. He was later released but remains under investigation.
The A530 remained closed yesterday until around 1.00pm.
Cheshire Police have asked anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage to call them on 101 and to quote IML 1849226.
