Plans submitted to improve Mount Golf and Country Club have been approved.
The club, which is located in Perton, will have its clubhouse extended and a new driving range added. Two padel tennis courts will also be added to the facility.
The application stated that the club wants to “invest significantly” in improving the club in order to compete with rival golf clubs.
Several aspects of the proposal were initially considered to be “inappropriate” given the golf club’s location in the “green belt”. However, the planning committee overlooked these concerns and approved the plans.
Councillor Rita Heseltine stated: “It will be very prestigious, not only for the village but the area, to have top of the range, cutting-edge facilities.”
