Mokisos, a meze grill and bar, is set to open today (Thursday 27 June) in Leek.
It will serve a range of dishes inspired by the Mediterranean region, with wraps, kebabs, steak, and rice dishes on offer. For starters, expect plenty of feta, hummus, and olives. Guests can also sample Turkish wine, raki, and a range of cocktails.
The new Mediterranean restaurant can be found at 220 Buxton Road, Leek, in the building formerly occupied by Moss Rose Mediterranean Grill and Bar.
The former incarnation of the restaurant only opened in December 2022, but shut only a few months later after an earthquake hit Turkey and affected close relatives of the owners.
In the time since the venue has changed to new management and undergone a makeover.
The new restaurant will be open Monday-Friday, 10.00am to midnight and 10.00am to 10.00pm on Sunday.
The building has changed hands several times over the years. It was formally known as the Mose Rose Inn before becoming the Sera Cafe Bistro.
