Man charged after A500 collision leaves car on roof

A man has been charged with driving offences in connection to a collision that took place on the A500 at Porthill on Friday (12 July). 

Oleg Kozin (31) of Shavington, Cheshire, has been charged with driving a motor vehicle with an alcohol level above the legal limit. 

Reports were made on Friday after a car collided with with the central reservation on a road in Newcastle-under-Lyme. 

An ambulance attended the scene and found Kozin outside of the vehicle, which was on its roof. No one was injured in the crash. 

According to a spokesperson from the West Midlands Ambulance Services, “The man was assessed and conveyed as a precaution to the Royal Stoke University Hospital for further checks.”

Kozin is due to appear in North Staffordshire Justice Centre on 17 September.
