Jonathan Gullis, the Stoke-on-Trent noth MP, has issued an apology after failing to fully declare £11k worth of charity donations.
Gullis formally chaired the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) until March 2024. Earlier this year, the APPG declared on their website that they had received donations on their website. However, these donations had not been fully declared on the official register.
The parliamentary group had received £5,000 from SADS UK and £6,000 from Resuscitation Council UK, both in 2023.
As part of the code of conduct, APPG are obliged to declare any donation received over £1,500.
An inquiry headed by Daniel Greenberg, the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, concluded that the code of conduct had been breached.
Greenberg noted in the report that “there had been no deliberate attempt to conceal the support received”.
Gullis apologised and stated that he is “incredibly sorry for any confusion this has caused”.
