Emergency services were sent to Hanley on Tuesday afternoon (6 August) after receiving reports of a fire.
Three fire engines, two police cars, and members of Stoke-on-Trent City Council raced to the scene at around 3.55pm.
Upon arriving, they found the Falcon Pottery factory on Old Town Road had been set on fire.
The fire was promptly extinguished. Thankfully, no one was injured during the fire.
The pottery was used by JH Weatherby & Sons in the late 19th century. In 1989, its bottle kiln was Grade-II listed. Unfortunately, this kiln collapsed in on itself in 2012.
In the years since, the factory has frequently been targeted by vandals.
Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the blaze that damaged some of the building on Tuesday.
They’ve asked for witnesses to come forward and for anyone with information to contact them on 101, quoting incident 471 of 6 August.
