A once beloved pub on Shelton New Road in Stoke-on-Trent was destroyed in the early hours of this morning (13 June) after a car smashed into it.
It is believed that a car smashed into the Sneyd Arms, which has been shut for several years, sometime around midnight.
Staffordshire Police, firefighters, council officials, and demolition crews arrived on the scene in the early hours.
A section of Shelton New Road remained shut until 6.45am this morning. Police remained onsite until 6.30am.
Teams worked through the night to ensure the building was safe. Caging has been erected around the pub.
No information about the crash itself is currently available. Staffordshire Police are yet to make a statement on the incident.
The pub dates back to the late 19th century and has had several names over the years, including the Tap and Spile and Harry Ramjams.
