Staffordshire Police have charged Wayne Bond (44), of Stafford, with murder following the death of Rebecca Simkin (31), also of Stafford.
The police received a report at 10.25am on Monday (29 July) regarding the death of a woman at a Newport Road property.
Yesterday (July 31), police named the deceased as Rebecca Simkin. They also announced that Bond had been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Bond will appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre today (1 August).
Staffordshire Police have asked that anyone who has any information that could help with the ongoing investigation to contact them on 101, quoting incident 194 of 29 July.
