The Retreat, located on Mill Street in Leek, closed with immediate effect on Saturday (1 June).
A statement from the business blamed “increases in costs” and “falling demand” for the closure of the spa, which was also home to a beauty salon and bistro. These facilities have also closed.
The statement also read: “Please accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience and disappointment this may cause and allow me to thank you for all your custom and loyalty over the years.”
To honour commitments to vouchers and booked visits and courses, a pop-up spa called Heaven Culture has opened at Gettlife’s Yard in Leek.
Heaven Culture will operate for the next six months.
