Over 700 people have already bought tickets to the inaugural Stoke-on-Trent Comedy Festival, which is due to take place this weekend (10 – 11 May).
The festival, organised by Me & Mrs Jones Comedy, features six acts who will each perform at the Potteries Museum & Art Gallery’s Forum Theatre.
Shazia Mirza will open the event at 7pm as the only act performing tonight (Friday). Saturday will see performances from Steve Royle, Scott Bennett, Nathan Caton, Justin Moorhouse, and Kiri Pritchard-McLean.
Kiri Pritchard-McLean’s appearance is part of her extensive 70-date Peacock Tour. Tickets for the Have I Got News for You star cost £16, while the rest of the acts cost £10.
The Forum Theatre holds just 300 seats, so an intimate comedy experience is to be expected.
The entertainers behind Me & Mrs Jones Comedy are Rachel Jones and Dave Twentyman. They worked in collaboration with Stoke-on-Trent Council to organise the event.
The couple hope to make the festival an annual event and Ms Jones said they “…can’t wait to entertain Stoke-on-Trent this weekend”. Ticket information is available here.
