The inaugural One Small Weekend will take place this weekend (May 4 – May 5) at Abbey Hulton Football Club. The festival will showcase some of the best tribute bands in the country, with Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, ABBA, and Queen tribute acts set to take the stage.
Jason Edwards, who owns the Funky Fillerz sandwich shop in Werrington, is the businessman behind the event. In addition to providing fun and entertainment, the event will also raise money for charity.
Money raised from the festival will go towards two local charities: the University of Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust and the Macari Foundation.
Mr Edwards said: “There are two things about the people of Stoke-on-Trent, they love a good time and they will help anyone who needs it. So I thought, why not put the two together? People can have a great weekend while helping out those in need.”
Tickets for the event are available from Gigantic – click here to buy. Tier one weekend tickets are priced at £49.50 for adults and £27.50 for children. Day tickets for both Saturday and Sunday are also available, with prices set at £27.50 for adults and £16.50 for children.
The Abbey Hulton Football Club is located on Birches Head Road. Doors open at 3.00pm on both the Saturday and the Sunday. Food and drink vendors will be available throughout the festival.
Saturday performances include tributes to Pink, Taylor Swift, Kylie Minogue, and Ed Sheeran. On Sunday, Tina Turner, Queen, Abba, and Cher tribute acts will be performing. DJ Groove-on-Trent will also be performing at various points throughout the weekend.
