Labour MP for Stoke-on-Trent North, Ruth Smeeth, has expressed her concern about the possibility of the government lowering tuition fees for some university degrees.
Stoke-on-Trent Central MP Gareth Snell has called for Theresa May to table a motion of no confidence in her own Cabinet.
Mr Snell, who was elected in February in a by-election, was debating the June 8 General Election with MPs in the House of Commons when he made the comments.
Prime Minister Theresa May has called for an early General Election to be held on June 8.
In a statement made in Downing Street, Mrs May said: “I have concluded the only way to guarantee certainty and security for years ahead is to hold this election.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn visited Stoke-on-Trent to praise Gareth Snell on his victory in the Stoke-on-Trent Central by-election.
Mr Corbyn visited Hanley’s Cultural Quarter with Mr Snell, who won 7,853 votes to UKIP leader Paul Nuttall’s 5,233.
Last night, (February 23) Mr Snell saw off competition from his rival Mr Nuttall beating him by more than 2,000 votes.
Stoke-on-Trent, dubbed ‘capital of Brexit’, was expected to have a larger amount of UKIP support.
Stoke-on-Trent Central MP Tristram Hunt has criticised the Stop The War coalition for what he labelled “pretty ugly” online abuse of Labour MPs.
