Burslem Nathan's Coffin

19-year-old Nathan Bates was found dead in Burslem on October 11th. Today around 700 people attended his funeral at Swan Bank Methodist Church, family and friends alike. The former Co-op Academy student was described as having ‘A heart of Gold’ and was his father’s ‘Pride and joy’. During the service, donations were taken in order to fundraise for the neonatal unit at Royal Stoke University Hospital.


Hundreds of mourners lined the streets outside Holy Trinity Church, Hartshill to pay their final respects to so-called “King of the Gypsies”, Lawrence Boswell.

Just before noon on a sunny day, a cortege of five top-of-the-range Rolls Royce cars slowed to a crawl outside the main gate. Each of the 4 family cars was full with mourners.


Hundreds of mourners turned out for the funeral of former Stoke City player Paul Ware.

Fans and former players, including Terry Conroy, Dennis Smith and Tony Pulis, arrived at St Mary’s Church in Sandbach to pay their last respects.

The 42-year old’s life was celebrated through music and tributes after lost his battle against brain cancer earlier this month.
