After snowfall last weekend meant that not a single non-league club in Staffordshire saw their match go ahead, an upturn in the forecast should bring better conditions this weekend.

Nantwich Town’s play-off hopes are all but over after a 2-0 defeat at home to Matlock this past Tuesday left them 11 points outside of the top 5. The Dabbers have also played a game more than 5th placed Ashton United. They travel to Buxton tomorrow, and face a gruelling schedule of seven matches in the months of both March and April.

Since the Grenfell Tower tragedy, firefighters have been seen as the unsung heroes of our society. Their work is not just about putting out fires or saving cats stuck in trees, but they are involved in a huge variety of incidents such as road traffic collisions and rescuing farm animals. 


Alsager-born freestyle skier Rowan Cheshire will have the eyes of the world on her as she takes to the slopes to compete in the Winter Olympics on Monday (19th February).

The 22-year-old will be battling for a medal in the halfpipe event four years after her Olympic dream was shattered, as concussion ruled her out of Sochi 2014.


Alsager freestyle skier Rowan Cheshire has spoken of her heartbreak after her dream of competing in the Winter Olympics was shattered following her accident during training in Sochi.

The 21-year-old said the whole Olympic experience was both amazing and harsh; since she was forced to exit the competition before she could even qualify.
