This is the 14th year of the darts Premier League, but for the first time there was no player from Stoke-on-Trent.
The previous competitions have all included all time great, Phil Taylor, who retired earlier this year.
Stoke’s Phil Taylor beat Dutchman Jelle Klaasen 7-5 in last night’s Darts Premier League, hitting an average of 97.5%.
Klaasen had already been eliminated from this year’s League, so was playing for pride alone, while Taylor is fighting for a top four play-off place.
Phil Taylor was knocked off the top of the Premier League table as fellow Stokie Adrian Lewis eased to an important 7-4 victory in Glasgow.
