More and more children are being safeguarded in Stoke-on-Trent as part of a city council initiative to prevent child abuse.

A report to the council said that since July 2015, 149 people were arrested of suspicion of offences to do with child sexual exploitation in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent and 41 voluntary interviews were conducted where an arrest was not required.

A school in Endon raised more than £6,000 after it hosted a row-a-thon to raise money for three separate charities.

Endon High School organised the event to raise funds for Kidsgrove-based dog rescue Greyhound Gap, a school in Nepal and an orphanage in Kenya.
