Port Vale manager Michael Brown has warned that his side that they face a stiff test against AFC Wimbledon this Saturday (3pm kick-off).

The Valiants are languishing in the League One relegation zone, albeit with a game in hand, having won just three of 16 league matches since losing 4-0 to the Dons in their previous meeting in mid-December.

Former Port Vale manager Rob Page has been appointed as the new manager of Wales’ under-21s, according to the Football Association of Wales.

Page, who played for Wales himself, will take charge of the youth setup for the national side with immediate effect and will look after the under-21s, as well as the under-19s and under-17s.

Stoke City’s under-18s take on Manchester City at the Academy Stadium on Friday night in the first leg of the FA Youth Cup semi-final.

It is Stoke’s first game at this stage in 33 years and Kevin Russell’s side has beat West Ham, Nottingham Forest, Brighton and Preston to get this far – scoring a total of 11 goals.

The Potters come up against an impressive Manchester City side that they have lost to both home and away in the Premier League U18 North Division, conceding 9 goals and scoring 4 over the two games.

A gritty Stoke City side picked up a well deserved point at the Etihad Stadium as they held Manchester City to a 0-0 draw.

Mark Hughes’ side were the better team in the first half and were probably unlucky not to go into the break with the lead.

But Manchester City created several clear cut chances in the second half and failed to take advantage, as the Potters remain in the top half of the Premier League table.
