Over 300 people flocked to the King’s Hall, Stoke-on-Trent, this morning to pray and give their support to both of the local football clubs.

Newcastle Town director of youth, Gavin Appleby, has been shortlisted for the Sport in the Community award at the City of Stoke-on-Trent Sports Awards.

Appleby was recognised for his great work coaching with the youth teams, supporting football in the local community as well as his work in Clayton Hall Academy high school supporting and helping students.

Stoke City manager Paul Lambert insisted that all eyes are geared towards gaining a positive result against West Ham United at the London Stadium on Monday evening.

The 48-year-old declined the opportunity to make any comment on the situation regarding Jese and Saido Berahino. On-loan Paris Saint Germain attacker Jese has reportedly failed to turn up for training, while Berahino has been demoted to train with the under-23s.
