Campaigners say people across the UK are backing their fight to save Fenton Town Hall ahead of their appearance at Stoke-on-Trent County Court next week.

The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) is taking two of the lead campaigners to court on a charge of trespassing after they refused to leave the building which they have occupied since Remembrance Sunday.

A Stoke-on-Trent councillor revealed today he is resigning as a member of the Labour Group.

Cllr Neil Day told StaffsLive he felt unable to represent his Blurton West and Newstead residents any longer under Labour.


Stoke-on-Trent City Council has been awarded £4.3 million additional funding to help around 10,000 disadvantaged families across the city after applying for the Transformation Challenge Award.

The award will allow the council to help vulnerable people and families living in the city get the support they need faster.
