While no Staffs players fought through to the second day of the two-day event, there were still some notable performances.

The new Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Partnership NHS Trust has been officially launched by the Minister of State for Health at an event at Haywood Hospital in Burslem.

NHS staff from a range of services provided by the new Trust gathered to show off their work to Simon Burns MP, who was also given a short tour of some of the facilities during his visit.

North Staffordshire tennis star Josh Eardley has secured a scholarship at a top American University.

Over the course of the next four years, Josh will attend Wingate University in North Carolina where he will combine studying for a degree with a scholarship in the hope of becoming a professional.

A group of people from a local church went reverse trick or treating and handed out sweets to residents in Burslem.

The group from Swan Bank Methodist Church took “bags of hope”, which contained sweets and leaflets about the church to homes on the Park Estate last night (October 31)
