Ten houses in Middleport will be available to part-own for just a pound.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council is working with independent charity Empty Homes (formerly the Empty Homes Agency) and a local housing association on the part-ownership scheme for the properties in Harper Street, right next to Middleport Pottery.

Scores of climbers will be scaling the height of Mount Everest in one day in Burslem on Saturday 22nd June to raise funds for cancer charities. The climbers will be climb 8,848m at Kilnworx to support Climbers Against Cancer and to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Presenters from Burslem-based 6 Towns Radio will be broadcasting through the night for a week to raise funds for the community station’s FM licence trial application.

The station is running the 24-hours-a-day live broadcasts for one week, starting on Monday 27th May.
