Three young entrepreneurs from Staffordshire University have reached the UK finals of the 2017 Hult Prize – the world’s largest student competition.

Daniel Griffiths, Danielle Nugent and Sarah Wright are the three Business Management students who will pitch their business idea in London on 3-4th March, with their idea aiming to transform the lives of female refugees in Colombia.

Representatives from Staffordshire University’s Students’ Union have been out on campus encouraging students to get registered to vote ahead of Stoke-on-Trent Central’s by-election.

They have spent the last week campaigning to encourage as many students as possible to register to vote before the deadline tonight (February 7).

A Staffordshire University chef has entered The Great Hospitality Show competition hosted in the NEC Birmingham.

John Whittle, 43, from Stoke-on-Trent, works as an executive chef at Brindley Café in Staffordshire University, where he serves up his creations to hundreds of students daily.

Staffordshire University students have launched the Staffs Future Journalist competition 2017 to discover the next generation of talented young journalists.

The competition is open to school children aged 7-18 across Staffordshire, Cheshire and the West Midlands who can write up a review, opinion piece or interview to stand a chance of winning.
