Children from schools in Stoke-on-Trent have been at Staffordshire University for Holocaust Memorial Day.

As part of their visit, the youngsters were working with Broadcast Journalism students in the university’s newsroom to learn about journalism and create content to mark the event.

Staffordshire University’s Rugby Union Men’s 1st team booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Midlands Conference Cup with a comprehensive 22-0 victory over University of Warwick’s 2nds at the Sir Stanley Matthews Sports Centre.

It was revenge for Staffs, who lost 31-0 to Warwick in the league earlier this season, as they became the first side to defeat the Midlands 2A league leaders.

Port Vale player-coach Gareth Owen said he is delighted to represent League Two after being voted onto the PFA management committee.
