It was announced last week that a record-breaking 227 had completed Police Now’s 13-week National Detective Programme.
Hundreds of trainee detective constables are now ready to work within the force as they move towards completing their two-year course.
39 of the 220 will be stationed in Staffordshire.
The intensive course taught the trainees a wide range of skills, including how to manage a crime scene, how to handle a complex investigation, and how to make an arrest.
The programme, which is aimed at graduate students, also taught participants relevant officer safety and first aid skills.
To finish off, the trainees sat the National Investigators’ Exam.
Millie Tanner, Police Now’s Head of the National Detective Programme, stated at last week’s closing ceremony: “Completing this academy is an incredible achievement and you should be really proud of where you stand today, but you know that the real work starts here.”
She continued: “My advice to you is this – show up, physically and mentally, put the work in, support your colleagues and allow them to support you. And go and play your part in transforming policing and communities.”
