Non-League Preview: Ball Haye Green FC aiming for the summit of Staffs County League

It’s been a good week for Ball Haye Green in the Staffordshire County Senior League.

After victory at home to Abbey Hulton United on Wednesday night, manager Andy Beechey is confident as they travel to Walsall Wood on Saturday.

“Confidence in the group is high but we have to stick to the task” he said. “We have had three good results since starting back”.

Green have won their last two games in the league scoring nine goals and conceding five in the process.

Beechey also had praise for Walsall Wood. He said: “They have beaten teams around us in the league, so I think one thing knowing how we play and seeing their results. I think it’s likely we will see some goals”.

Since the restart Walsall are unbeaten in the league and cup, the same as Green. Wood have scored six and are yet to concede in the games.

With Foley Meir’s game being postponed, Green can move three points clear at the top with a win on Saturday. Kick off has been changed to 4:15 as a mark of respect for Prince Phillip’s funeral.
