Fire crews rescue young boy and carer from Tamworth floods


Staffordshire Fire and Rescue have rescued a young boy and his carer from intense floods in Edingale, Tamworth.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue service said: “Crews from Barton and Lichfield have released a driver and a young boy from a vehicle after it had gotten stuck in flood water in Edingale, Tamworth.

“Both of the casualties are believed to be safe and well.”

Two fire crews from Barton and Lichfield attended the scene shortly before 10.15am this morning (November 15).

In an earlier announcement the fire service had said warned that the A513 from Tamworth to Alrewas is flooded, including Croxhall Road just past Catton Park. They warned drives not to drive through flooded roads.

A number of train stations and lines across the country are closed or delayed following days of sudden heavy rain causing severe floods.
