Fresh from being eliminated from The Emirates FA Cup after a narrow 1-0 loss to Gateshead, Kidsgrove are looking to bounce back to winning ways to kickstart another cup run as they host Wisbech Town at the Autonet Insurance Stadium in the FA Trophy preliminary round on Non-League Day.
The visitors sit above Kidsgrove in the league on the fact the Fenman have played three more games than the hosts.
The last time the two sides met was last year in the Buildbase FA Trophy, where the Grove came out of the fixture 2-1 winners.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Kidsgrove manager Ryan Austin was positive that his team will be in the FA Trophy for the long run.
He said: “We’ve been on a good run so it’s important we bounce back. We’ll train this week and get this result out of our system.
“It’s important we approach the FA Trophy in the right manner as it’s a cup we can genuinely do well in.”
Aiming to develop a bigger attendance at Autonet Insurance Stadium for non-league day, Kidsgrove Athletic have also announced that any attending supporter, will receive discounted entry to their next league game on Saturday 2nd November against Frickley Athletic.
Wisbech Town were formed in 1920, and with their 100th birthday approaching, let’s look back to one of the highlights in the club’s history.
In the 1983/84 season they went 37 games unbeaten in the Eastern Counties League, but still missed out on the title to Braintree Town, on goal difference having scored a club record 125 goals that season.
If you are looking to get down to a non-league game this weekend, Kidsgrove entry prices are £8 for adults, £5 for concessions and £1 for those aged 12-16.
