Crewe Alexandra vs Exeter City
Date: Saturday 5th October
Venue: Gresty Road
Crewe Alexandra host Exeter City at Gresty Road in a top-of-the-table clash in League Two this weekend.
Both teams are level on 22 points, with Exeter in first place due to their superior goal difference of +6, compared to Crewe’s +5.
The home side have scored 18 times in the league this season and conceded 13, while the visitors have netted 16 goals but let in 10.
The Grecians will be looking to bounce back on Saturday after losing their first league match of the season last time out, falling to a 3-1 defeat to Grimsby Town.
Meanwhile, the Railwaymen also failed to win in their last fixture, drawing 1-1 away from home against Cheltenham Town.
The last time the two clubs met, back in February, Matt Taylor’s side recorded an impressive 2-1 victory.
Ahead of the match this time around, the City manager said: “They’ve started well, and we are on the same points. It’s certainly a game you look forward to.”
His opposite number, David Artell said: “It is a tough assignment for us, but we want to win the game and go to the top of the league.”
