Mothercare to hold Easter fun day

Baby goods giant Mothercare have announced a fun-filled community event due to take place in the second week of the Easter holidays.

The Festival Park-based store is holding the family event as part of a push to get the company more involved in the local community and to build links with families all around the Stoke-on-Trent area.

The event, on Tuesday 23 April, promises a visit from a local PCSO and Police car; face painting and a baby first aid group.

Movie character favourites Elsa, Ana, Belle and Buzz Lightyear can also be found wandering around the store, joining in on the activities.

There will also be a free raffle with prizes donated from Dimensions Leisure Centre in Burslem, and afternoon tea for two at the on-site Angelina’s Café.

The café will also have a special ‘kids eat for £1’ deal with a full paying adult on for the event, along with arts and crafts activities around the store.

Newly appointed Mothercare specialist and event organiser Lisa Simpson said: “The event is a chance for us to really branch out into the local community.

“We enjoy meeting families of all types on a daily basis, but we wanted to hold a fun day to give a little back to them. It’s during the Easter holidays so we hope to see lots of families there, and we can’t wait to have a great day.”

As well as all of the extra activities, Mothercare will still be offering their usual free car seat fitting service, free maternity bra fitting service and free click and collect service.

Store managers Joanne Smith and Jacqui Bicknell are delighted that their team have come together to hold this event.

They said: “Community links are very important for our store. We have been building up a reputation around Stoke-on-Trent by holding new-parent meet ups and expectant parent events, but we wanted to hold a day that’s for everyone. Our newly appointed team of specialists have been working really hard to organise fun events like this for our customers, and Lisa has put so much effort into making this day happen.

“Mothercare Festival Park has an exciting few months ahead and this event just kick-starts the community projects we are hosting and taking part in over the summer months.”

The store will be hosting the next block of their expectant parent events on 9, 13 and 16 June. Places are free to book and gives parents-to-be a series of mini product demonstrations and advice sessions, as well as event-exclusive vouchers and goody bags.

They also have new-parent meet-up events where they have informal advice sessions, with help from parent support charity, NCT. Topics range from advice for travelling on holiday with little ones, to how to deal with children struggling to sleep. The next event will be held at the store on May 20, 2019.

The staff from the store will be heading to the Moat House on Festival Way, Etruria for the Baby, Toddler and Beyond event on June 2, 2019. The team will be offering advice, handing out goody bags and continuing to build their community relationships.

If you’re looking for something to keep the little ones entertained over the Easter holiday that’s not going to break the bank, Mothercare’s fun day will entertain them for hours.

Mothercare Festival Park’s Easter community event is being held on Tuesday 23rd April between 11am and 3pm. No tickets are needed, and the store’s usual services will be operating as normal.
