The New Vic Theatre in Newcastle-under-Lyme is heading to New York’s theatre district this summer for their first-ever international tour.
Heading to New York’s New Victory Theatre on 42nd Street, the theatre will revive the much-loved production of Around The World In 80 Days for a ten performance run.
The New Vic are working with partners Kenny Wax Family Entertainment and Simon Friend on the New York run before heading down the coast to Florida.
Director Theresa Heskins said: “Nothing makes me happier than knowing that the New Vic is creating world class theatre for local audiences.
“And now we’ve got the chance to go and tell the rest of the world about the special place we call home.”
Reprising their roles on stage are Pushpinder Chani as Mr Naidu; Kirsten Foster as Mrs Aouda and Matthew Ganley as Colonel Proctor.
Dennis Herdman will be back as Inspector Fix; Michael Hugo as Passepartout; Nyron Levy as Captain Speedy; Joey Parsad as Miss Singh; Andrew Pollard as Phileas Fogg and Stefan Ruiz in Ensemble roles.
Around The World In 80 Days can still be seen in the UK before they head out on their international tour.
From April 17 to April 20 they will be set up at Liverpool Playhouse and April 23 to April 27 at Salisbury Playhouse.
Then from May 10, they will move to New York before Florida on June 6.
