Stoke-on-Trent will hold one of Britain’s most prestigious Speedway’s events on 11th August as Loomer Road hosts the National league pairs final.
There was some extensive work made to the Stoke track in 2018, and the much-improved circuit will be playing host to some of the UK’s best riders in May after a three-year absence of the event.
Dave Tattum, promoter of the Stoke speedway club said: ‘’The pairs meeting hasn’t been run for a year or two and they have reinstated it this year and for Stoke to be held is a massive honour I feel for Stoke speedway.
‘’We have done major events before. We have done the fours quite a few times and it is quite an honour to do this and we will do our utmost to make this a successful meeting on the day.’’
The track is located perfectly within the country for attendances to boom, and Tattum believes crowds could be on the rise.
‘’We are bang in the middle so speedway supporters can see the best riders on view in the national league so it’s going to be a good day.
“All the clubs that are involved in the National League, they will have two riders involved so ideally, we should bring supporters from various parts of the country. ‘’Some of those riders will be doubling up in the league above, so it could be a good day and we are hoping all the supporters can get behind the meeting and its down to the riders and Stoke to make it a good day.’’
The National League have also announced that the National League Fours will be held at King’s Lynn on Sunday July 7th, 2.30pm and the National League Riders Championship will be held on Sunday September 22nd with a 3pm start-time.
